Paper Plane, Sydney

(group exhibition with Kate Beckingham, Nick Greenwich and Ling Yuen)

This body of photographic work explores visual traces of the habits and rituals of the everyday use of very old household objects that embody a lifetime of touch, display and utility. Signs of wear and damage work with the play of light to heighten the sense of slippage from real-world detail and bring to mind the processes of memory. The silent communication of gesture - its references and its traces - is evoked in images of objects that imply the absence of their initial owner.
