This work resulted from an exploration into the emotions of attachment to place that were engendered by the continued occupation of a family holiday house since its purchase in 1939. Family members contributed to the project by submitting drawings of floor plans of the old house as they remembered it (all different, of course). Selected drawings were made into hand dyed and stitched textile pieces, reflecting the contributors' differences in memory, with the textile treatments referencing both the building materials of the old house and the personalities of the people who inhabited it.
