This is a fabulous course. I had little experience and learned so much.
I want to thank you for a thoroughly delightful day being introduced to the art of Boro rice bag making.
I have spent the better part of my waking hours since Thursday stitching, contemplating, evaluating, adorning, and ultimately completing my bag this morning. These have been utterly tranquil hours. I think it is the combination of creating a pleasing composition, the focus and repetition of stitching, the knowledge that each recycled material has a history, the invitation to fine-tune and personalise with adornments, and the joy of creation that made this such a rewarding experience.
It was a pleasure to meet you and exchange ideas.
Thanks for a wonderful day Rhonda! Very proud of my Boro bag! I’ve definitely been bitten.
Many thanks for the apron workshop on Saturday – I really enjoyed it.
Please put me on the wait list for the December workshop.
Just a big thank you for your time, skill, taste and patience, all given freely at your engrossing workshop.
I would love to attend more in the future.
DRAWN TO PAINT: CONTEMPORARY PROCESSES
Adults, all skill levels (but with some painting experience)
9 week term, 2.5 hour class
Thursdays 6.30-9.00 pm
Term 4 starting date TBA due to Sydney’s Covid lockdown
In this course you will be encouraged to experiment with techniques and materials, beginning with drawing and finishing with a painting project of your own. You’ll also be supported in developing ideas and concepts for your work, as well as embracing the imperfections of process. You’ll begin to develop your own personal aesthetic (if you haven’t already) while working with composition, colour, form and mark-making.
Creative exercises will warm you up for self-directed projects and the concepts and techniques of specific artists will be used as examples. You will receive instruction and feedback from your tutor, and assistance with developing your projects.
